Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (RQF)

The Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care is aimed at supporting lead adult care workers (i.e. senior carers) and lead personal assistants in developing or even demonstrating their skills at level 3. Aspiring staff can also undertake the diploma to prepare them for promotion at a later date.
The course is CQC recognised and is supported by Skills for Care and Skills for Health.
This diploma is ideally designed for those who wish to gain a qualification but may not have the entry qualifications required i.e. for college or university.
On this flexible 9 month course, you will be guided through a range of workshops by experienced and qualified assessors. These workshops are based in Sheffield, Chesterfield, Rotherham and surrounding areas and are aimed at meeting individual students' needs. The course is made up of mandatory and optional units, assignments, and workplace observations.
Entry Requirements:
The following are required:
at least 18 years of age
a caring and supportive approach to working with others
working in an appropriate care setting as a senior/lead care worker or have supervisory responsibilities

Course Assessment:
An allocated assessor will guide you through the diploma and assess your work practice through workplace observations and knowledge workshops. Workshops are usually done on a one-to-one basis in the workplace but at certain times of the year, there are opportunities to join group sessions.
If you struggle with the more traditional teaching styles, our assessors will adapt the resources and work with you in the learning style that suits you best so you can achieve a qualification without having to go through the typical 'classroom' style environment that comes with going to college or university. Your qualification journey should be as smooth as possible, therefore the learning requirements are always fitted around your needs.
Location:
Sheffield / Rotherham / Chesterfield and surrounding areas.
Our assessors can visit you in your workplace, meet you in a suitable local location (i.e. library) or meet you in our Sheffield training centre. Details of our location can be found here.
Cost:
We have funding available so this course may be free of charge for you if eligible. If you are 19 years of age or over you may be able to access the Advanced Learner Loan service. Course Progression:
On successful completion of this course, there are opportunities to progress onto the Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care, the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership, a Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care and other professional courses in lead adult care, social work or nursing.
Within the Level 3 qualification, you may decide to select units in leadership skills and/or knowledge at level 4 to support progression after the course.
