Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care (RQF)
The Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care is aimed at those working in a variety of adult care settings (including residential care, domiciliary care or day centres) or lead personal assistants in a team leader/senior role who want to develop their skills and knowledge to demonstrate competence in their advanced role.
The qualification aims to develop specialist skills and knowledge in your area of responsibilities to enable you to lead in them. Such areas include assessment, enablement, assessing performance, quality of care delivery and coaching and mentoring colleagues.
The course is CQC recognised and is supported by Skills for Care and Skills for Health.
The course is made up of mandatory and optional units, assignments, and workplace observations.
Face-to-face training - On this flexible course, you will be guided through a range of workshops by experienced and qualified assessors. These workshops are based in Sheffield, Chesterfield, Rotherham and surrounding areas and are aimed at meeting individual students' needs.
Independent learning – On this flexible course, you may want to work independently on your qualification and have the chance to complete as many assignments as you want in your own time and in your own location. Our experienced assessors will still be on hand to answer queries by email or over the phone and can provide one-to-one workshops if required. Our training room in Sheffield is also available to work in.
Entry Requirements:
The following are required:
at least 18 years of age
a caring and supportive approach to working with others
working in an appropriate care setting as a senior care worker or have supervisory responsibilities

Course Assessment:
An allocated assessor will guide you through the diploma and assess your work practice through workplace observations and knowledge workshops. Workshops are usually done on a one-to-one basis in the workplace but at certain times of the year, there are opportunities to join group sessions. Independent learning is also supported on this course.
Location:
Sheffield / Rotherham / Chesterfield and surrounding areas.
Our assessors will visit you in your workplace and meet you in our Sheffield training centre. Details of our location can be found here.
Cost:
We have funding available so this course may be free of charge for you if eligible. If you are 19 years of age or over, you may be able to access the Advanced Learner Loan service. Course Progression:
On successful completion of this course, there are opportunities to progress onto the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership, a Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care and other professional courses in social work and nursing.
You may wish to choose leadership themed units and units at level 5 within the Level 4 Diploma to prepare you for progression at a later date.
